Review and create assessments
Assessments are a way of gathering specific information about a candidate. These forms can help you get and understand important details, not only about the experience, education or personal information of the person, but also understand things that are related to the job opening you published. For example, an assessment could include questions related to previous experience, candidates' specific knowledge or other things that, even though they could have been included in the resume, you need to have answered through a specific set of questions.
Assessments can be created to be filled by the candidate, by the recruiter or by an interviewer.
To access the assessments the system has already configured, click on the "Assessment" module on the top of the page. If you don't see this option, click the three dots to the right:
Now, Recruit is going to show a list of previously created assessments. To see more information or edit a record, click on the name of it. If you want to create a new one, click the "Create assessments" button to the right of the screen:
Now, select one option:
- Candidate Assessment: this type of form is created to be filled by the candidate itself. This way, when you publish a job opening, you can link it to the assessment that the potential employee needs to fill
- Recruiter's Assessment: this type of form is created to be filled by a recruiter instead of the candidate
- Interviewer Assessment: this type of form is created to be filled by an interviewer, during the candidate's interview
Now, fill the basic information:
To add a new section for a set of competencies, click the "Add competency" [1] link. If you want to add a new question, click the "Add question" [2] link:
You can edit a question or delete it, by clicking on the appropriate option to the right of it's title:
When editing a question, you can make it mandatory [1] to force the candidate to answer it and change the question type [2]. Zoho Recuit has several types of questions, like single line, radio, drop down, multi select and yes / no. Once you are done adding the question, click the "Save" button.:
Finally, click the "Save" button on the top right side of the page, to save your assessment:

Link an assessment to a job opening
To link an assessment to a job opening, click on the "Job openings" module and select the job opening you want to edit:
Now, select the "Pre-screening assessment" option to the left and click on "Add existing assessment":
Choose the type and assessment and click the "Save" button:
Even though assessments can be filled by the candidate when applying for a job opening, you can share an assessment with a candidate, by going to the candidates module, clicking on a candidates name and sending that person an e-mail:
On sending the e-mail, choose the "Submit assessment - Candidate" [1] e-mail template and the job opening [2] related to it:
